Purple is brand new

Yeap!

I finally got to redesign this blog. I am not a fan of constant changes in the templates of any site, because I normally don't find a new design to my liking. And honestly I suck at coding/html/internet stuff. But the old design was already too boring and... I don't know. Probably missing something.

Some hours later and purple is brand new. Or at least in semi-transitional state until I get the free time to finish it. My bad.

I hope that I will be able to post more often especially when I start to sketch/draw/write again. Until then: here is a white chrysanthemum or mum, as I call it.

A random photo: A chameleon! A bug! A thing! So cute!

It is so totally cute that I had to share it! The author is a talented young girl and obviously has some really interesting objects to shoot. The colours, the sharpness, the vibrancy!  :")

Saturday: More Fallas

Today is the last day of Fallas. The figures will be burnt this night. Except for one small doll/Ninot which is saved for the museum. I still wonder to go and see the show of the burning or not to do so. If I do, tomorrow will be the last post of this sequence. Still, it hurts me to see all that beauty destroyed.

Enjoy this festive in its most bright colours because it is ephemeral, short and reminds that the life never stops. :")

The Artist Falla and his Muses

The Big one at the centre. It is huge.

The children's Falla. One of my favourite. These fruits are just so cute!!!

This photo is my favourite. For the feeling and the perfect colours. My DSLR was in artistic mood that night.

Do you see the stealing octopus? And the cat? Now, tell me, would you burn this to ashes?

Eve... This one represents the Original sin. The woman was so beautiful, with fine detail and it gave me the feeling of real human flesh and skin.

The top of The Original sin Falla. The cranes are so delicate...

Here come two funny ones. This one is a spirit of the television...TVE is a Spanish T.V. Channel

The Chicken of War!!! These made me laugh so hard... I took the picture for my father. He will be pleased to see the interpretation of war.

I hope that I made your day more colourful and bright. In this time of crisis and natural cataclysms, I think it is good to take note from Spanish people. No matter what goes in the world, no matter the strike actions of the public transport and the lack of metro, no matter for the bills and that the prices are going up... we have only one life to live. And for our best is to live it at it maximum.

And one question by the way... do you prefer bigger photos in the post or not?

Edit: Nit de Foc was yesterday, this night is called Crema.
Photos: All mine...no edit. Straight from the camera...

Monday Inspiration: Brain

The human brain is what makes us unique they say. The logic and the long-term memory, plus the ability to learn and evolve are what makes it the most powerful tool in the world. And even better: We all carry one of those in our heads.

Today I bring you an inspirational illustrations about our brains.

I finish this post with a quote that I like really much:

The brain is wider than the sky.

Have a nice and brainy week!!!

Saturday or Day "??": Baaaaaarcelona, SIA and me!

Say hello to Barcelona!

The second largest city in Spain, capital of the province of Cataluña and a commercial port of great interest for Europe as a cultural, social, media and tourist centre. It is home of near 1, 6 million people and on 15 of January 2011 I went there for first time... not to see Antoni Gaudi, who I honestly don't like very much, but to get a demo tour and decide if it is worth all that fuss after all. I was there 4 days, more or less, not quite enough to see all. Prepare a couple of months if you want a deeper picture of this city.

First impression... Gaudi is to be seen. Personally, there on the spot. I was impressed. It was great. He was a genius indeed. That although doesn't change my opinion in general of the Spanish Modernism. But if you can, go and see Sagrada Familia, Casa Mila, Casa Batlo y el Parque Guell.
Other interesting architectural objects there are the Pavilion of Germany from the EXPO in 1929-30 which is one of fundamental buildings of the Modern Architecture- rebuild in 1989 on the original spot, The Gothic District in the centre, Caixa Cosmo and also the park of Montjuic.
The beaches... I have seen better, but the littoral walk is quite nice on bike.

And now some photos with a short comment.

see the lamps. :") i liked those really much, not to say that they were perfectly executed and finished... something that in Bulgaria you won't see this often. the chair was like a bubble. quite nice too.

Sagrada Familia... the light is amazing and the temple is so big. it is like a magical forest of pillars and stone. on the site now work 300 people, the biggest part of them stone carvers. if you want to know how it stands, the answer is so simple- parabolic arcs

the Cathedral's windows. modernistic paintings which give to the interior a magical touch. the artist name is Toni-Vila-Grau. i fell in love with those.

meet La Pedrera or Casa Mila. It is situated on Passeig de Gracia. i really liked the interior of the building. it is still a residential building with people who actually live there in very opulent, decadent, light and cosy apartments...

the roof of the same house. with many stairs and quite strange chimneys

the famous bench in the Park Guell and i doing one of my favourite stuff: writing postal cards

the Botanical Garden on Montjuic. it is a new project and the trees need to grow but it is a wonderful place for a walk. and not to mention the perfectly made entrance and metal bins, and that there is water dispensers everywhere... something that we do not have nowhere in Sofia...

So this is it for now. It is a long post but there are so many new things to tell and the time to write so short. As it is nearing the 14 of February, I want to wish everybody: Честит Трифон Зарезан за втори път!!! as I don´t festive the commercial Saint Valentine´s Day...

One last thing:

Barcelooooona....- it was the first time that we met
Barcelona - how can I forget
The moment that you stepped into the room you took my breath away
Barcelona - la musica vibros
Barcelona - y ella nos unio
And if God willing we will meet again someday

I don't know if there is anybody that doesn't know this song. Apart of my deep love for Freddie Mercury and his phenomenal voice I will say that the text is quite right...

...and I will come again.

Projects...not again

Well, yes. Here they come.
Another three months of drafting, sketching and wondering how to finish it all, just in time to the Judgement Date...sometimes I really hate my profession choice and just want to go back to school and the simple, no-stress living, day to day, lazy Sunday afternoon and walk around's.
Yeap. Impossible for now.

But at least I got my drawing muse back during the boring everlasting Tuesday Lectures: posting the results soon. And I started to carve rubber stamps to calm down some nerves and I got pretty good results.

Happy Week to Everybody!
